MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641019737 A) filed by Kalasalingam Academy Of Research And Education, Virudhnagar, Tamil Nadu, on Feb. 20, for 'chess board digital tracking device for reconstructing chess game sequences for amateur practitioner.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The titled invention discloses chess board digital tracking device for reconstructing chess game sequences for amateur practitioners for automatically tracking, recording, and visually guides reversing chess moves on a physical board. The system includes. I 0 a chess board (1 }, an overhead support structure for mounting a master camera vision tracker (6) and a projection module (7). The master camera vision tracker (6) continuously captures images of the playing surface and detects positional changes of chess pieces. The microcontroller ( 11) sequentially stores the moves and retrieves them upon request. During replay or reversal, the player presses the sequence 15 tracking switch (9) and the microcontroller ( 11) triggers the projection module (7) to provide visual guidance directly on the chess board by spot lighting the last moved chess piece and projecting the corresponding icon onto the destination square. Adjustable height and focus mechanisms (3}, (10) enable proper optical alignment and image clarity across different playing environments."
