MUMBAI, India, June 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202321086330 A) filed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Nasik, Maharashtra, on Dec. 18, 2023, for 'charging device for fighter aircraft launcher.'
Inventor(s) include R M Nimkar; Durgesh Chand; and N S Chaudhari.
The application for the patent was published on June 20, under issue no. 25/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Charging Device is used for charging nitrogen in pneumatic cylinders of launcher of fighter aircraft. The Charging device comprises of Main body, Handle, Shaft, Cock, Locking semi ring, Adapter, Nut, Rubber seal, Copper seal. Nitrogen supply from source is connected to Charging device input. Charging device output is connected to charging valve mounted on the pneumatic cylinder in aircraft launcher. For charging of nitrogen, Handle (4) is rotated in clockwise direction and shaft (1) moves in downward direction and opens charging valve, thus opening the air passage way from Adapter to cylinder to be charged. After charging is completed, Handle is rotated in counter clockwise direction and shaft moves in upward direction and charging valve gets closed, thus closing the passage way from Adapter(9) to cylinder. Nitrogen supply from source is closed. Knob of Cock(2) is rotated in counter clockwise direction and residual nitrogen is released from the device."
