MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641025854 A) filed by Sri Sai Ram Engineering College, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on March 5, for 'chargers using peltier modules.'
Inventor(s) include Akshaya S; Madhuvanti R; Harshini L V; and Angel Barakka J.
The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "We live in a wired world where nearly everything in our lives requires a steady supply of electricity to remain in operation. Access to energy is a pressing issue in our country. A lot of waste heat is generated by electrical appliances in each of our homes. By using this waste heat, we can generate electricity. The inefficiency in generating electricity is a major cause of problems ranging from mere inconveniences to life-threatening situations. Charging electronic devices is an integral part of modern life, and the demand for efficient . charging solutions continues to rise. This abstract explores the potential of employing Peltier modules in chargers to enhance their efficiency and sustainability. Peltier modules, based on the thermoelectric effect, have garnered attention for their ability to convert temperature differentials into electrical energy. This study investigates the feasibility of integrating Peltier modules into charger designs, analyzing their impact on energy converswn efficiency, heat management, and overall performance."
