MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517061271 A) filed by Nippon Steel Texeng Co. Ltd., Tokyo, on June 26, for 'charge/discharge inspection device and charge/discharge inspection method.'

Inventor(s) include Haraguchi, Tomoki; and Ishibashi, Teruhito.

The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided are a charge/discharge testing device and a charge/discharge testing method which make it possible to, even when a plurality of secondary batteries are arranged in the thickness direction, assuredly bring the secondary batteries and charge/discharge contacts into contact with one another, while suppressing the size enlargement of a tray and the device itself. A charge/discharge testing device 100 brings charge/discharge contacts P into contact with positive electrode terminals and negative electrode terminals of a plurality of secondary batteries B arranged in the thickness direction, and performs charging/discharging. The charge/discharge testing device 100 comprises: a first movable mechanism 10 that moves, all together, a plurality of charge/discharge units U having the charge/discharge contacts P along a direction in which the plurality of secondary batteries B are arranged; and a second movable mechanism 20 that is provided independently of the first movable mechanism 10, and that moves, one by one, the plurality of charge/discharge units U along the direction in which the plurality of secondary batteries B are arranged."
