MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024847 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'chaff separating device.'

Inventor(s) include Ruby Sharma; Dr. Aaruni; Mansi Dhiman; and Saijal Bhuria.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A chaff separating device comprises of a platform 1 installed over a fixed surface by means of plurality of suction cups 2 arranged beneath the platform 1, a chamber 7 is arranged over the platform 1 by means of a link 6 that is stored with grain from which chaff is to be separated, a touch interactive display panel 10 to provide input, an electronically controller valve 8 installed over the chamber 7 to dispense the user-specified amount of the grains within a curved member arranged beneath the valve 8, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 12 installed over the platform 1 determines dispensing of the grains in the member, and an inverted L-shaped telescopic rod 3 in to extend and position a motorized shaft 4 over the member which further rotate for tapping the grains by means of multiple flaps 5 to separate the chaff from the grains."
