MUMBAI, India, June 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202527052754 A) filed by Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., Guangdong, China, on May 30, for 'cell activation method and communication apparatus.'

Inventor(s) include Huang, Xiuxuan; Li, Xinxian; Zhai, Bangzhao; and Peng, Jinlin.

The application for the patent was published on June 27, under issue no. 26/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided in the present application are a cell activation method and a communication apparatus, which can be applied to scenarios such as carrier aggregation and are particularly suitable for the activation of high-frequency secondary cells. The method comprises: by means of a first cell, receiving first configuration information from a network device, the first configuration information indicating N time-frequency resources in one-to-one correspondence with N temporary reference signals (TRSs); on K time-frequency resources among the N time-frequency resources, receiving K TRSs among the N TRSs; and further activating a second cell according to the K TRSs. Compared with implementing cell activation by means of physical broadcast channel blocks (SSBs), the present application configures dedicated TRSs for terminal devices, thus lowering the time delay of activating secondary cells."

The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 08, 2023, under International application No.PCT/CN2023/137381.
