MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511133799 A) filed by Chitkara University, Solan, Himachal Pradesh, on Dec. 30, 2025, for 'ceiling-fan mounted safety device for threat mitigation.'
Inventor(s) include Shivendu Prashar; and Arun Lal Srivastav.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A ceiling-fan mounted safety device for threat mitigation, comprising of a hollow structural body 101 configured to be securely affixed around an existing a ceiling fan assembly, a weight sensing unit 102 for detecting load variations applied to the ceiling fan, a highly sensitive microphone 103 continuously detects distress or agitated sounds in vicinity to the fan, a thermal imaging camera 104 for evaluating thermal signatures, stress indicators and facial expressions of a user located below the fan, a gyroscope sensor 105 detects angular displacement, tilting, and abnormal vibrations of the fan, a sliding unit 106 integrated with a horizontal rod 107 to rotate the rod 107 in a circular motion around the body 101, forming a dynamic physical barrier around the fan assembly, preventing engagement of a rope with the ceiling fan assembly, a safety arrangement prevents user self-harm by interacting with the rope placed on the fan assembly."
