MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311085094 A) filed by Nipro Corporation, Osaka, Japan, on Dec. 13, 2023, for 'catheter assembly.'
Inventor(s) include Kazuhiko Hashimoto.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A catheter assembly (100) includes an outer needle (101) and an inner needle (102) inserted through the outer needle (101). The outer needle is made of a polyether block amide (PEBA) polymer containing repeating units represented by the following formula (1), and the polymer has a Vicat softening temperature of 80 C or more and 150 C or less under a load of 50 N as measured according to ISO 306. In the formula (1), A is a polyamide, B is a polyether, and n is the number of units."
