MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202527089097 A) filed by Cataler Corporation, Shizuoka, Japan, on Sept. 18, for 'catalyst for exhaust gas purification.'

Inventor(s) include Onoe, Ryota; Shirayama, Yodai; Ito, Masaya; Takasu, Ryosuke; and Fujita, Nozomi.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This catalyst for exhaust gas purification includes a catalyst layer 20 comprising a lower catalyst layer 22 and an upper catalyst layer 24. The lower catalyst layer 22 includes: a lower-layer front portion A disposed on the upstream side and containing Pd; and a lower-layer rear portion B disposed on the downstream side and containing Pd and/or Pt. The upper catalyst layer 24 includes: an upper-layer front portion C disposed on the upstream side and containing Rh; and an upper-layer rear portion D disposed on the downstream side and containing Rh. The lower-layer front portion A, the lower-layer rear portion B, the upper-layer front portion C, and the upper-layer rear portion D have individually set CeO2 contents. In this catalyst for exhaust gas purification, a catalyst metal content ratio APGM/BPGM between the lower-layer front portion A and the lower-layer rear portion B is set to 0.8-1.1 from the standpoint of attaining both OSC performance and warming performance. It is thus possible to provide a catalyst for exhaust gas purification which can exhibit adequate purification performance in accordance with the working condition of an internal combustion engine."

The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 11, 2023, under International application No.PCT/JP2023/044137.
