MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517075855 A) filed by Yamaha Hatsudoki Kabushiki Kaisha, Shizuoka, Japan, on Aug. 8, for 'catalyst deterioration diagnostic device for flexible fuel engine.'
Inventor(s) include Shimizu, Yuta.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided is a catalyst deterioration diagnostic device (1) for a flexible fuel engine. Even if there is a difference in at least either the cycle (Cdc) or the amplitude (Adc) of a signal of a downstream oxygen sensor (113) due to a difference in the mix ratio of a flexible fuel, even if the number of inversions of the signal of the downstream oxygen sensor is smaller than the number of inversions of a signal of an upstream oxygen sensor when a catalyst (111) has deteriorated, and even if the signal of the downstream oxygen sensor is inverted when the catalyst is normal, the catalyst deterioration diagnostic device generates single diagnostic data on the basis of the signal of the downstream oxygen sensor during a diagnostic period (Pc), and diagnoses the deterioration state of the catalyst on the basis of at least one diagnostic data generated on the basis of the signal of the downstream oxygen sensor during a total diagnostic period (Pt) which is a period including at least one diagnostic period and longer than or equal to a total of two cycles of the signal of the upstream oxygen sensor."
The patent application was internationally filed on Mar. 22, 2024, under International application No.PCT/JP2024/011276.
