MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517073042 A) filed by Beijing Xiaomi Mobile Software Co. Ltd., Beijing, on July 31, for 'capability reporting method and apparatus.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed in the embodiments of the present disclosure are a capability reporting method and apparatus, which can be applied to the technical field of communications. The method, which is executed by means of a terminal device, comprises: reporting capability indication information to a network-side device, wherein the capability indication information is used for indicating the maximum switching time when a terminal device performs uplink switching in a specific switching mode, there are a plurality of switching schemes for the specific switching mode, and the maximum switching time is the maximum value in switching times required by the plurality of switching schemes. Thus, a terminal device can determine and report an accurate switching time, such that data transmission is prevented from being performed while uplink switching is performed, thereby effectively preventing a data transmission failure."
