MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621013436 A) filed by Gokul Global University, Patan, Gujarat, on Feb. 7, for 'cap holding and maintenance device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Kirtikumar N. Mevada.

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A cap holding and maintenance device, comprising a cuboidal housing 101 placed on the ground, multiple motorized slider 102 on each inner lateral walls with rigid support rods 103 to translate around the housing 101, and telescopic grippers 104 attached to the rigid support rods 103 for cap handling, an imaging unit 105 synchronized with a dust sensor detects surface dust, activating a cleaning assembly with a robotic arm 107 and electronic nozzle 108 linked to an antibacterial fluid tank 109, an air blower 110 controlled by a humidity sensor dries the cap, followed by UV-C sterilization via a robotic gripper 111, regulated by a near-infrared spectroscopy sensor, an e-nose sensor on the robotic arm 107 for detecting odor levels, fabric shielding panels on the frame via a pair of L-shaped bars 113 to shield the caps, lighting element 117 with light sensor on the frame to provide illumination during operation."
