MUMBAI, India, June 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311084457 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 11, 2023, for 'candle storage and management device.'
Inventor(s) include Neha Gupta; Rajni Verma; Anmol Gautam; and Ashwini K. Sharma.
The application for the patent was published on June 20, under issue no. 25/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A candle storage and management device comprises of a cylindrical hollow body 1 positioned on fixed surface in an enclosure and developed to accommodate a candle, a laser sensor for detecting diameter of candle, a motorized iris lid 2 for firmly gripping candle, a camera 3 for capturing multiple images of candle, an LDR (Light Dependent Resistor) for detecting light intensity in surroundings, a robotic arm 4 for igniting detected candle's wick via a motorized lighter 5 to maintain an optimum light intensity within enclosure, a pair of C-shaped members 6 attached with reflective sheet 7 for reflecting light emitted by ignited candle's wick, an ultrasonic sensor for detecting length of candle and a telescopically operated pusher 9 for gradually pushing out candle from body 1 in order to sustain position of candle's wick."
