MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441039248 A) filed by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Gyeonggi, Republic of Korea, on May 20, 2024, for 'cancelling in-progress imminent peril state of the group while call is not ongoing on the group.'

Inventor(s) include Kiran Gurudev Kapale.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a method for handling an in-progress imminent peril state during mission critical services, utilizing a Mission Critical Push-To-Talk (MCPTT) server and client. The method includes the MCPTT server receiving a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) request message from an authorized MCPTT client to cancel the in-progress imminent peril state of an MCPTT group. The SIP request message includes an imminent peril indication set to false. The method further includes validating the SIP request message and the in-progress imminent peril state of the MCPTT group, setting the in-progress imminent peril state to false, and clearing all MCPTT IDs of users that triggered the imminent peril state. Subsequently, the MCPTT server transmits a SIP notification message with the imminent peril indication set to false to each MCPTT client and sends a response to the SIP request message indicating successful cancellation. This invention ensures efficient and secure management of imminent peril states in mission critical communication systems."
