MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411005327 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 25, 2024, for 'can recycling device.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A can recycling device, comprising a housing 1 installed with a chamber 2 to be manually placed with used can, a touch enabled screen 3 is installed on housing 1 for enabling user to give input commands for making can reusable, a motorized iris lid 4 to open chamber 2, a camera 8 for detecting diameter of can, a set of vessels 9 installed within housing 1 that are stored with plastic bottles of different dimensions, a telescopically operated gripper 10 configured within housing 1 for gripping one of bottles of suitable dimensions and positioning bottle on a platform, a telescopically operated rod 11 suspended from a ceiling portion of ceiling and configured with blade 12, an electronic nozzle 13 attached with receptacle 14 stored with adhesive solution and a hot air blower 15 mounted in proximity to disc 7 for blowing hot air to dry-up applied adhesive solution."
