MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024718 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 27, 2024, for 'cable wrapping assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Ankit Sharma; and Dr. Ashutosh Sharma.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A cable wrapping assistive device, comprising a body 1 with a handle 2 at the proximal end to position the distal end in proximity to cable that is to be wrapped, artificial intelligence based imaging unit 3 installed over body 1 to determines dimension of cable, pair of semi-circular shaped extendable member 7s attached with distal end via a motorized hinge joint 9 to accommodate the cable within members 7, motorized drawer arrangement 4 installed in each of members 7 to provide appropriate extension/retraction to the members 7, pair of motorized rollers 5 arranged over the body 1 to insert one end of spiral wrapping band to rotate in opposite direction to withdraw and translate the band towards the members 7, plurality of motorized pop out balls 6 are installed over outer periphery of the members 7 to translate the spiral wrapping band around the cable."
