MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311088285 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 22, 2023, for 'c-h bond activation enabled ester-linked covalent organic polymer and method for synthesis thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Atul Pratap Singh; Renu Devi; Satyam Singh; Vivek Singh Rana; Rajesh Kumar Yadav; and Atresh Kumar Singh.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method of synthesis of the polymer comprises of following steps: i) adding 2, 2'-Dithiodibenzoic acid and erythrosine in ratio 1:2 in a Teflon-lined hydrothermal autoclave reactor to form a mixture, ii) adding of 1 mL of DMF (Dimethylformamide) in the mixture to form a heterogenous mixture which is heated to 210o C for a pre-defined period of time that results in formation of a precipitate, ii) filtering precipitate from the mixture and purifying the filtered precipitate by means of a Soxhlet extraction method having ethanol as a solvent in order to remove impurities from the precipitate to obtain pure state of the polymer."
