MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010379 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'bumper shielding device for four wheelers.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Rinkesh Mittal; Dr. Bhawna Tandon; Abhishek Chaudhary; Manan Goel; and Parteek Kumar Singh.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A bumper shielding device for four wheelers, comprising a platform 1 configured with a pair of motorized clamps 2 attached with a plurality of suction units 3 to adhere the clamps 2 with chassis for affixing platform 1 with chassis of a four-wheeler, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 4 installed on platform 1 to determine location of bumper of four wheeler, an L-shaped telescopic rod 5 linked to a pneumatic unit installed on platform 1 to extend and position a plate 6 configured with rod 5 beneath bumper to protect bumper from getting hit by ground surface, a plurality of motorized rollers 7 layered with rubberized layer installed beneath plate 6 to rotate on axis in direction of movement of four wheeler in order to aid in smooth movement of plate 6 over surface."
