MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202431037173 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology, Kharagpur, West Bengal, on May 10, 2024, for 'bubble wrapping to protect super capacitor.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Sudipta Biswas; Dr. Debabrata Mandal; Dr. Ananya Chowdhury; Dr. Vikas Sharma; and Prof. Amreesh Chandra.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A packaging setup to protect performance decrement of electrochemical devices including super-capacitors under external vibration comprising bubble wrapper layers attached on both side surface of the electrochemical device cell. Evenly arranged air filled pockets are provided on the bubble wrapper layers which absorbs a significant portion of external shock or vibration to electrochemical device cell and thereby prevents the external vibration creating a standing wave within electrolyte of the electrochemical device cell and disturbing electric double layer thereof."
