MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511125351 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology, New Delhi, on Dec. 11, 2025, for 'brushless interior permanent magnet synchronous motor.'
Inventor(s) include Jain, Amit Kumar; Gupta, Sagar; and Bhardwaj, Vaibhav.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A brushless interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) (100) is disclosed. The brushless IPMSM (100), can comprise a stator (110) with a plurality of windings (112) arranged for fractional or integral slot operation and a rotor (120) with a plurality of cavities (122-N) for accommodating a plurality of hybrid permanent magnets (130-N). Each cavity (122-1) among the plurality of cavities (122-N) may comprise at least one hybrid permanent magnet (130-1) among the plurality of hybrid permanent magnets (130-N). The at least one hybrid permanent magnet (130-1) can be a flat magnet comprising at least one rare-earth permanent magnet (132) and one ferrite permanent magnet (134) at both sides of the at least one rare-earth permanent magnet (132)."
