MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521084930 A) filed by Endurance Technologies Limited, Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, on Sept. 8, 2025, for 'brake disc for a vehicle and method of manufacturing the same.'

Inventor(s) include Moresh R. Deshpande; Sandip S. Rachatwar; and Dinesh S. Shinde.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Brake Disc for a Vehicle and Method of Manufacturing the Same A brake disc (100) for a vehicle comprises an annular ring with a central opening (10) for coupling with a wheel hub. The disc includes an outer annular region (20) and an inner annular region (30) forming an annular step (SP1) in the axial direction. The outer region (20) has uniformly spaced circular holes (16) for weight reduction and heat dissipation. The inner region (30) is integrally formed and includes a stepped profile (SP2) forming a tone ring (40) with a plurality of radially arranged slots (45) for wheel speed sensing. The inner region further includes trapezoidal petals (35) and mounting holes (37) for hub attachment. The manufacturing method involves blanking, CNC stepped machining, slot piercing, and final machining operations to create the stepped profiles and features. Slot and die wall dimensions are optimized based on disc thickness to ensure manufacturability and structural integrity while enhancing braking performance and sensor integration."
