MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541123052 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 5, 2025, for 'brain tumor detection using glcm features and ensemble learning.'

Inventor(s) include Dr Vishnu Priya Arivanantham; Abishek S; Rakshana S; and Mouleeswar D.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a computer-implemented method (100) for brain tumor detection in magnetic resonance imaging scans. The method (100) receives (102) a dataset of MRI images categorized into tumor present and no tumor classes, extracts (106) Gray-Level Co-occurrence Matrix texture features from the MRI images across multiple orientations, integrates (114) the GLCM texture features with statistical features to create a combined feature set, trains (116) an ensemble learning model using the combined feature set, and generates (118) brain tumor detection predictions using the trained ensemble learning model. The GLCM texture features are extracted by computing GLCM at 0, 45, 90, and 135 degrees orientation. The ensemble learning model includes a voting classifier that combines predictions using majority voting and a stacking classifier that employs multiple base learning algorithms with a meta-learner."
