MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531129762 A) filed by Narula Institute Of Technology, Kolkata, West Bengal, on Dec. 21, 2025, for 'bluetooth controlled water-body cleaner bot.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Bansari Deb Majumder; Mrs. Dipu Mistry; Dr. Maitrayee Chakrabarty; Mrs. Kamalika Banerjee; Mrs. Subhra Mukherjee; and Mr. Subham Ghosh.

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A remotely controlled aquatic cleaning apparatus is disclosed, comprising a buoyant platform supporting a microcontroller unit and a Bluetooth transceiving module for receiving remote command signals from a user device. The apparatus utilizes a twin-motor propulsion sub-system, governed by a motor driver, for differential thrust and omnidirectional manoeuvrability across a water body surface. A mechanized conveyor belt is integrated as a debris ingestion mechanism for efficiently collecting floating solid waste into an onboard reservoir. Furthermore, the apparatus incorporates a multi-parameter sensor suite for concurrently monitoring aquatic environmental parameters, including pH and turbidity, transmitting the collected data in real-time. The system provides a cost-effective, environmentally conscious, and data-rich solution for localized water body maintenance and ecological management."
