MUMBAI, India, May 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517044685 A) filed by Voxdale Bv; and Instituut Voor Tropische Geneeskunde, Wijnegem, Belgium, on May 8, for 'blood sampler for collecting a blood sample from a digit.'
Inventor(s) include Wymeersch Rien; Dieryckx Tim; Sorgeloos Kristof; De Baetselier Irith; Platteau Tom; Herrijgers Corinne; and Van Den Bossche Dorien.
The application for the patent was published on May 30, under issue no. 22/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A blood sampler (1) for collecting a blood sample from a digit (61) comprising a clip (2) defining a space (20) for receiving at least part of the digit (61) wherein the clip (2) comprises a first opening (21) for attaching a vial (3) for receiving the blood sample and at least one lancet holder (5) in or on the clip (2) at a location different from the first opening (21) for receiving a lancet system (4) comprising a lancet (43) for lancing the at least part of the digit when present in the space (20)."
