MUMBAI, India, May 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517019111 A) filed by Omron Healthcare Co. Ltd., Kyoto, Japan, on March 4, for 'blood pressure measurement device, control method, and control program.'
Inventor(s) include Nakawaki Nozomi; Kubo Nobuo; Fukuda Yasunori; Kumagai Kazuki; and Higuchi Yuya.
The application for the patent was published on May 30, under issue no. 22/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided are a blood pressure measurement device with which it is possible to check measurement information in an information terminal in a short time, and a control method and a control program therefor. A blood pressure measurement device (100) comprises: a communication unit (15); a processor (11); a pressure sensor (32); and an adjustment mechanism (50) that adjusts the pressure of a cuff (20). The processor (11) performs: measurement processing including main processing of acquiring output of the pressure sensor (32) while controlling the adjustment mechanism (50) to change the pressure of the cuff (20), and of deriving blood pressure information on the basis of the output, and post-processing of controlling the adjustment mechanism (50) to reduce the pressure of the cuff (20) to be less than or equal to a threshold; and transmission processing of establishing a short-range wireless communication connection with a smartphone (200) and transmitting the information obtained by first processing from the communication unit (15) to the smartphone (200), the transmission processing being started at a timing (time T3) prior to an end timing (time T4) of the measurement processing."
The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 08, 2023, under International application No.PCT/JP2023/040249.
