MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026058 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'blood packets storage and management device.'

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A blood packets storage and management device, comprises of a cuboidal body 1 constructed with plurality of extendable platforms 2 positioned on a fixed surface, a touch enabled screen 3 is installed on the body for enabling a user to give input commands, a motorized slider 5 configured between the platform and plates 4 for translating the plates 4 away from each other, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 6 mounted on each of the plates 4 for capturing and processing multiple images, plurality of LED lights 7 fabricated on the body to illuminate for notifying the user regarding the section stored with the blood packet, plurality of motorized iris lids 8 configured with one of the platforms allowing the user to access the determined section for taking out the blood packet. Peltier units 9 is configured with the plates 4 for maintaining an optimum temperature of the body."
