Inventor(s) include Manoj Kumar Sharma; Aastha Sharma; Amrita Tiwari; Sachin Shrivastava; Manoj Kumar; Achintya Kumar Pandey; and Pradeep Kumar Tripathi.

The application for the patent was published on June 5, under issue no. 23/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a blockchain-enabled secure electric vehicle charging and billing framework for smart city environments using adaptive smart contracts and real-time energy management. The system integrates IoT-enabled charging stations with a distributed blockchain network to enable transparent, tamper-proof, and automated recording of all charging transactions, including energy consumption, time stamps, and billing data. Adaptive smart contracts are utilized to dynamically regulate charging tariffs and operational rules based on real-time grid conditions, energy demand fluctuations, and renewable energy availability, thereby ensuring optimized and efficient energy utilization. The invention further incorporates a secure multi-layer authentication mechanism using cryptographic digital identities to prevent unauthorized access and ensure secure plug-and-charge functionality. An intelligent energy management module enables dynamic load balancing across charging stations to maintain grid stability and reduce peak demand stress. The billing process is fully automated through blockchain-based execution of smart contracts, eliminating the need for intermediaries and reducing transaction delays. Overall, the invention provides a scalable, secure, and efficient solution for next-generation electric vehicle charging infrastructure in smart cities while enhancing transparency, reducing fraud, and improving energy distribution efficiency."
