MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641008773 A) filed by Srinivas Institute Of Technology, Mangaluru, Karnataka, on Jan. 28, for 'blockchain based secured supply chain management.'

Inventor(s) include Nivin K S; Madhusudan S; Nithya B P; Mr. Nitheesh K; Ms. Soumya Manjunath Naik; Mr. Vishal; and Ms. Sinchana Shekhara Mogaveera.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 13, under issue no. 07/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "In today's globalized economy, supply chain management (SCM) plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and secure movement of goods from source to consumer. However, traditional SCM systems are often plagued by issues such as lack of transparency, data fragmentation, fraud, and inefficiencies. This project proposes a blockchain-based solution to address these challenges by leveraging the decentralized, immutable, and transparent nature of blockchain technology. The developed system utilizes the Ethereum blockchain platform along with tools such as Solidity, Truffle, Ganache, Web3.js, MetaMask, and React to build a secure, end-to-end supply chain application. Core features include smart contract-based entity registration, real-time product tracking using QR codes, and automated order and status updates. Each transaction and movement in the supply chain is recorded on the blockchain, ensuring tamper-proof data and full traceability. The system enhances trust among stakeholders by providing a verifiable and transparent view of product flow, from raw material suppliers to end consumers. Security is reinforced through cryptographic authentication and smart contract automation, eliminating the need for centralized control and reducing human error. The result is a scalable, efficient, and secure SCM platform suitable for industries like agriculture, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, and logistics. This project demonstrates the transformative potential of blockchain in modernizing supply chain infrastructure, fostering accountability, and building a more resilient and transparent supply network."
