MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641061518 A) filed by Sr University, Warangal, Telangana, on May 14, for 'blockchain-based decentralized energy trading and management system for a microgrid.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Buddhadeva Sahoo.
The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A blockchain-based decentralized energy trading and management system for a microgrid, comprises multiple prosumer and consumer nodes, each node equipped with a meter to monitor and transmit real-time energy production and consumption data, multiple distributed energy resources operatively coupled to the microgrid to supply or store electrical energy, a power electronics interface comprising power electronic conversion systems configured with soft-switching controllers to regulate energy exchange between nodes and minimize switching losses, a real-time grid monitoring and adaptive control unit to measure voltage and current parameters across physical components of the microgrid to detect and mitigate electrical stresses, a distributed ledger platform communicatively coupled to the meters to execute one or more contracts to autonomously validate peer-to-peer energy transactions, calculate dynamic energy pricing, and perform transaction settlements, the system to optimize energy distribution and maintain grid stability under fluctuating peer-to-peer transaction loads."
