Inventor(s) include Mr. Sanjay M; Mr. Anburaj K; Mr. Dhatchanamoorthy B; and Ms. Anitha R.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Blockchain and NFT-Based Solution for Genomic Data Management, Sharing and Monetization The use of genomic infonnation in precision medicine, prediction of disease and personalized healthcare is becoming increasingly important than ever. But with growth comes ominous challenges-safety of protection of data, anonymity, and claiming ownership. Centralized architectures conventionally employed for the storage and sharing of genomic data are susceptible to data misuse, violations, and openness. As an answer to this, the "Blockchain and NFT-Based Solution for Genomic Data Managemen~, Sharing, and Monetization" presents an open, secure, and decentralized solution to handle sensitive genomic data. In the system, blockchain technology provides immutable storage, open data usage history, and rigorous access controls. Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) are applied to label and represent unique individual genomic data sets and restore rightful ownership to data providers. Users can choose whether or not to provide or sell their genetic data under conditions provided in the use ofNFTs, and blockchain offers accountability and immunity to tampering and unauthorized access. Smart contracts fonn the core for authorization automation, governing data sharing rules, and agreement for incentives for monetization. For protection of sensitive data, advanced cryptography techniques such as encryption and secure key management are integrated into the system to comply with global privacy laws such as GDPR and HlPAA. The architecture also provides trusted interaction between individuals, health care organizations, and research institutions-providing medical advancements without sacrificing privacy. Through the integration of blockchain and NFTs, the solution creates an open and secure platform for genomic data. It provides individuals complete ownership of their genetic data and ethical data monetization. The system supports secure cooperation and research by scientists without violating confidentiality. lt creates a foundation for future-proof digital healthcare infrastructure."
