MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531091738 A) filed by Narula Institute Of Technology, Kolkata, West Bengal, on Sept. 25, 2025, for 'block-chain based decentralized e-tendering system using smart contracts.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Jayanta Pal; Mr. Arindam Das; Dr. Sumanta Kundu; and Ms. Soma Swain.

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a decentralized, e-tendering system based on blockchain that keeps procurement processes secure and transparent, as well as counter-proof from manipulation of recorded information. The disclosure solves a number of drawbacks associated with the centralized e-tendering platforms through the combination of smart contracts with cryptographic techniques. The system allows an automatic submission of bids, verification of bids, evaluation of bids, and awarding based on pre-established objective criteria without human intervention. The system resists rigging of bids, collusion, and manipulation of data, thus promoting accountability and fairness in public and private procurements."
