MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621013360 A) filed by Gokul Global University, Patan, Gujarat, on Feb. 6, for 'blade sharpening and maintenance device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Chirag G. Makvana.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A blade sharpening and maintenance device comprises a platform 101, a blade-holding assembly 102 extends extendable links 102b and two clamps 102a coupled with the extendable links 102b securely grip blade, a ultrasonic sensor scans individual teeth to assess their condition, a sharpening assembly 103 comprises L-shaped rod 103a moves along a slider rail 103c and extends to position a sharpening tool 103b connected with the L-shaped rod 103a in contact with teeth to hammer the surface, an AI (artificial intelligence) enabled camera 104 captures detailed images to detect corrosion or damage, a spray nozzle 106 atomizes and sprays anti-corrosion mist from a corrosion treatment reservoir 105 connected to the nozzle 106 by a flexible conduit 107 onto corroded areas, a marking assembly 108 comprises a dispenser 108b deposits colour on damaged teeth from a color storage compartment 108a using connected to the dispenser 108b by a flexible pipe 108c."
