The resin is applied on or with a packaging substrate or shaped body (302, 405) as a single functional biopolymer resin body (206, 301), which forms a compositionally differentiated biodegradable packaging skin (207, 303) having a matrix rich barrier region (208, 306, 403) and an outer surface enriched region (209, 304, 401)."
