MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517092489 A) filed by Omron Healthcare Co. Ltd., Kyoto, Japan, on Sept. 26, for 'biological information measurement device.'

Inventor(s) include Mori, Kentaro; Kubo, Takeshi; Tokko, Yoshihide; and Okanishi, Takaaki.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This biological information measurement device comprises: a blood pressure measurement means that includes a cuff for measuring the blood pressure of a human body; a biological information measurement means that measures biological information which is different from the blood pressure; a belt part that is wound around and fixed to an outer periphery of an arm of the human body, and that disposes the cuff provided to an inner peripheral side on the outer periphery of the arm; a body part that includes a bottom part positioned on a side which is in contact with the arm in an attached state; and a sensor that is provided to the bottom part, and that contacts the arm to measure the biological information. A plurality of the cuffs are provided in an extension direction of the belt part, and the sensor is disposed at a change suppression position of the bottom part, which is a position of the bottom part on an extension line of a composite vector obtained by compositing vectors of forces acting through a center part of the arm toward an maximum expansion part of the cuff, and at which a change of a contact state of the sensor with respect to the arm due to expansion of the cuff can be suppressed."

The patent application was internationally filed on Jan. 30, 2024, under International application No.PCT/JP2024/002938.
