MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611048694 A) filed by Vivekananda Institute Of Professional Studies - Technical Campus, New Delhi, on April 16, for 'biochar production and soil application device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A biochar production and soil application device, comprises of a housing 101 having a plurality of motorized omnidirectional wheels 102 for traversing housing 101 on a ground surface, a plurality of compartments 103 for storage of different types of biomass, a biomass collection unit to collect, sort, and fill biomass within compartments 103, a pyrolysis chamber 104 to convert biomass into biochar, an oxygen sensor to detect oxygen concentration within pyrolysis chamber 104 and a microcontroller to trigger opening of a solenoid valve 105 for allowing ingress of nitrogen from a nitrogen storage tank 106, a soil digging unit for digging soil, an AI-enabled camera 201 to detect plant types and health conditions, a soil collection and analysis module to assess soil parameters, an electronic valve 202 to dispense biochar, and a plurality of articulated arms 204 with ball-and-socket joints and extendable bars 205 for flexible soil mixing."
