MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541113002 A) filed by Sethu Institute Of Technology, Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu, on Nov. 18, 2025, for 'bioblock turning organic waste into clean energy bricks.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. S. M. Nazia Fathima; Jabina S; Hema Dharsini; Abirami S; and Dr. S. Radhakrishnan.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The titled invention discloses a hybrid briquetting system designed for rural applications. It converts agricultural residues, cow dung, and other organic wastes into dense fuel blocks using a solar-assisted compression mechanism with manual backup. The process involves preparing the feedstock, blending it with additives, 10 compressing the mixture, curing the formed briquettes, and performing quality checks to convert waste into energy bricks. It provides a portable, decentralized and low-cost clean energy solution, promoting sustainability and income generation in rural communities."
