Intellectual Property India Publishes Patent Application for 'Binder For Positive Electrode, Electrode Mixture, Electrode, And Secondary Battery' Filed by Daikin Industries, Ltd.

MUMBAI, India, May 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517043551 A) filed by Daikin Industries, Ltd., Osaka, Japan, on May 5, for 'binder for positive electrode, electrode mixture, electrode, and secondary battery.'

Inventor(s) include Ogura, Akiho; Ichinose, Yuma; Fujiwara, Kae; Terada, Junpei; and Yamazaki, Shigeaki.

The application for the patent was published on May 30, under issue no. 22/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided are: a binder with which the interface resistance between a current collector and an electrode material layer in a positive electrode of a sodium-ion battery is reduced; and an electrode mixture, an electrode, and a secondary battery which use the same. This binder for a positive electrode of a sodium-ion battery is characterized by containing a copolymer (A) having a vinylidene fluoride unit and a tetrafluoroethylene unit, wherein the content of the vinylidene fluoride unit with respect to all monomer units in the copolymer (A) is 30-99.5 mol%."
