MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531018018 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Feb. 28, for 'bicycle saddle for enhanced hip mobility.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Hrushikesh Sarangi.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A bicycle saddle for enhanced hip mobility, comprising a curved frame 101 attached with a hollow cylindrical member 102 to be positioned on a saddle tube of a bicycle, an expandable pulley arrangement to increase/decrease dimensions of said member 102, a primary and secondary set of cushioned plates 103, 104 arranged in a stacked manner for allowing said user to get accommodated, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 105 to determine body dimensions of said user, a hydraulically operated rod 106 to maintain an optimum distance between said frame 101 and plates 103, 104 for ensuring a comfortable accommodation, a sliding unit 107 and slider 108 for translating said plates 103, 104, pivot up and down as per said user's legs movements, in view of distributing pressure evenly across said user's hip bones for enhanced comfort."
