MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026178 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 29, 2024, for 'bicycle maneuvering device for staircase.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A bicycle maneuvering device for staircase, comprising a first 1 and second cylindrical bodies 2 associated with device and developed to be positioned at a bottom and top end of a staircase, multiple plates 4 for deploying platform over staircase and having a free-end, a speaker 6 notifies user to pull second body away from first body to position second body at top end of staircase, an imaging unit 7 detects pulling of second body by user, a pair of semicircular members 8 accommodates a bicycle between members 8, a sliding unit 9 translates members 8 positions members 8, a pair of motorized clamps grips wheels of bicycle, an angle sensor detects angle of plate mounted with bicycle, and a pair of motorized hinges for tilting plates 4 in a manner to maintain an optimum angle of plates 4 to prevent misbalancing of bicycle."
