MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411007028 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 2, 2024, for 'beverage dispensing assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Rajeev R Mishra; Dr. Vikesh Kahysp; and Sujal.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A beverage dispensing assistive device, comprises of a spherical hollow body 1 accommodated over mouth portion of a beverage bottle, a C-shaped handle 2 gripped by a user for lifting body 1 along with bottle to pour beverage from bottle, a microphone for receiving voice commands of the user, a motorized hinge for tilting a circular disc 3 to position disc 3 over cap, an ultrasonic sensor detects diameter of cap, a circular plate 4 arranged underneath disc 3 and assembled with two curved-shaped members 5 via two motorized sliders 6 that translates members 5 towards each other for gripping cap, a motorized iris lid 8 closes for gripping body 1 with mouth portion, a laser projection unit 9 for emitting a laser projection to guide user in pouring beverage from bottle to glass via a hollow conical unit 10, a flow sensor for detecting flow rate of beverage."
