MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020157 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 18, 2024, for 'beverage container holding device for bicycle.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A beverage container holding device for bicycle, comprising an elongated frame 11 installed with a platform 1 accommodates a beverage container, a motorized expandable clamp 2 in contact with head tube of a bicycle, a microphone 3 enables a user to give voice commands for securing frame 11 with head tube, a laser sensor detects diameter of head tube, an imaging unit 4 detects diameter of container, a pair of motorized hinges 5 tilts a pair of flaps 10 attached with hinges 5 towards each or in, a tactile sensor detects hardness of container, a pressure sensor arranged with flaps 10 detects pressure applied by flaps 10 on container, a circular disc 6 via an L-shaped telescopically operated link 7 positions disc 6 on mouth portion of container, a laser security sensor detects diameter of mouth portion, an expandable pulley adjusts diameter of disc 6, an angle sensor detects inclination angle of ground surface over which bicycle is maneuvering, and a motorized hinge 8 maintains optimum angle of platform 1."
