MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517077673 A) filed by Societe Des Produits Nestle S. A., Vevey, Switzerland, on Aug. 14, for 'beverage capsule system with repeated code.'

Inventor(s) include Balasi, Szabolcs; Feo, Matteo Yann; Guyon, Bertrand; Pfister, Matthias; Stoller, Cyril; and Wyder, Stephan.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system comprising a container for containing precursor material and a machine for preparing a beverage and/or foodstuff or a precursor thereof from said precursor material, the container including: a code arrangement comprising a plurality of code repetitions, each code encoding a binary sequence to at least partially encode preparation information, the machine including: a code reading system to read the code repetitions; a processing unit for processing the precursor material of the container, and; electrical circuitry to control the processing unit based on the preparation information, wherein electrical circuitry is configured to: read the code repetitions to obtain the binary sequence for each code; implement a code decoder to determine a number of bit errors associated with the binary sequence, and; determine a recipe based on the binary sequence and the number of bit errors."
