MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019315 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 15, 2024, for 'beverage can holding device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Meenakshi Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A beverage can holding device, comprises of a circular disc 1 developed to accommodate a beverage can, a set of primary suction cups 2 for allowing a user to securely place disc 1 on a ground surface, a camera 3 attached with a link 4 for detecting diameter of can, an expandable pulley arrangement for increasing/decreasing diameter of disc 1, an L-shaped telescopically operated rod 5 attached with a C-shaped extendable member 6 for securely gripping can over disc 1, a microphone 7 for enabling user to give input commands, a telescopically operated gripper 8 for removing tab, a Peltier unit 9 for maintaining an optimum temperature of can, an extendable bar 10 attached with a circular plate 11 via a motorized hinge that deploys plate 11 to cover top portion of can in view of preventing any chances of contamination of beverage stored within can."
