MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531011179 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Feb. 10, for 'beverage can holding assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Tanmayee Khuntia.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A beverage can holding assistive device, comprises a cylindrical hollow body 101 developed to accommodate a beverage can and attached with a pair of U-shaped handles 102 to be gripped by a user for handling the body 101, multiple laser acuity sensors for detecting diameter of the can, a motorized iris lid 104 embedded within the body 101 to close for gripping the can within the body 101 in a secured manner, multiple telescopically operated links 201 arranged at bottom portion of the body 101, each attached with a suction cup 106, to adhere on a fixed surface as per the user's requirement, a microphone 107 to give voice commands for hands-free access of the can, an imaging unit 109 for detecting exact location of the user's face, a robotic arm 110 equipped with a pointed triangular shaped member 111, and a straw 105 for consuming the beverage."
