MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026074 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'beverage bottle holding device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Shweta Lamba; Dr. Ranjan Sariyal; Mandeep Kaur; and Ishan Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A beverage bottle holding device that is comprises of a platform 1 positioned on a fixed surface and installed with a pair of ring 3 for accommodating a beverage bottle, a proximity for detecting presence of the bottle in the rings 3 . an imaging unit 6 for detecting length of the bottle, a laser acuity sensor for detecting diameter of the neck and bottom portion of the bottle, a motorized iris lid 5 to close for gripping the bottle, a motorized ball and socket joint 8 configured between the rings 3 and rods 4 to tilt the rings 3 in view of transferring the beverage to the container, a speaker 2 for notifying the user to collect the chamber from the platform 1, and an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) module installed on one of the rings 3 to detect the beverage to be expired."
