MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517054132 A) filed by Qingdao Kingagroot Chemical Compound Co. Ltd., Shandong, China, on June 4, for 'benzene ring-substituted pyrimidine carboxylic acid compound, and preparation method therefor, herbicidal composition comprising same, and use thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to the technical field of pesticides, and specifically to a benzene ring-substituted pyrimidine carboxylic acid compound, and a preparation method therefor, a herbicidal composition comprising same, and a use thereof. The benzene ring-substituted pyrimidine carboxylic acid compound is as shown in general formula (I), wherein X represents unsubstituted or halogen-substituted alkyl; Y represents OR5; Z represents bromine, haloalkyl or cycloalkyl; Q represents O or S; R1 and R2 respectively independently represent hydrogen; R3 represents halogen or amino; R4 represents hydrogen or halogen; R5 represents unsubstituted or halogen-substituted alkyl; and W represents hydrogen or a salt thereof, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl, and the like. The compound has excellent herbicidal activity on grassy weeds, broadleaf weeds and the like, is safe for crops/vegetables such as corn, wheat, rice, rape, Chinese cabbage, and radish, and has high selectivity."
