MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511102302 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Oct. 24, 2025, for 'behavioral-based iot device identification and access control system.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A behavioral-based IoT device identification and access control system, comprising a behavioral feature extraction module 101 configured to analyze and extract enhanced behavioral characteristics from IoT device network activity, a machine learning classification module 102 configured to utilize the extracted behavioral features to classify and identify IoT devices based on behavioral patterns, an alternative feature analysis module 103 configured to identify IoT devices using HTTPS features and user agent information in scenarios with limited network traffic visibility, an access control management system 104 configured to regulate device access based on classification results and predefined security policies, wherein the system is configured to dynamically identify and manage accessibility of diverse IoT devices from various vendors based on learned behavioral representations, thereby enhancing the robustness of authorization and authentication arrangement in IoT ecosystems."
