MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019426 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 15, 2024, for 'bed sheet tucking assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Rahul Vishnoi.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A bed sheet tucking assistive device comprises of, an L-shaped body 1 attached with a handle 3 gripped by a user and developed to be positioned in contact with side portion of a mattress laid with a bed sheet, a microphone 4 to give voice commands for tucking the bed sheet with the mattress, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 5 for detecting free-end of the bed, a pair of motorized clippers 6 for gripping the free-end of the bed sheet, multiple motorized hinges 7 embedded with the body 1 and plate 2 for moulding the plate 2 and body 1 in a required shape, a telescopically operated rod 8 to extend for pushing the body 1 in the gap, a tension sensor for detecting tension in the bed sheet, and a pair of L-shaped telescopically operated links 10 to extend and position in contact with the side portions."
