MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511117684 A) filed by Delhi Technical Campus, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Nov. 26, 2025, for 'battlefield situational awareness system.'

Inventor(s) include Gunjan Sethi; Shalini Singhal; Piyush Nayak; and Amar Yadav.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A battlefield situational awareness system that enables real-time detection and classification of enemy personnel, weapons, and equipment using advanced AI modules including YOLOv8, Detectron2, MediaPipe, and LSTM networks. The system integrates a secure communication framework 104 based on Firebase and MQTT protocols with AES encryption to transmit critical alerts and intelligence. It features an action mapping module 105 employing OpenCV and pose estimation to visualize combat activities and trajectories on mobile interfaces. An IoT integration unit 106 monitors soldiers' biometric health data such as heart rate and oxygen saturation via wearable systems, enhancing medical response and force readiness. This integrated system provides mission-grade situational awareness, automated threat detection, and predictive modeling to improve tactical decision-making and soldier safety in various combat scenarios."
