MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311081222 A) filed by Hero Motocorp Limited, New Delhi, on Nov. 30, 2023, for 'battery retaining structure of a vehicle.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention provides a battery retaining structure (100) of a vehicle (10), comprising a latching element (102) connected to a frame body (12) of the vehicle (10), the latching element (102) adapted to receive a counter latching element (50) and retain a storage compartment (46) in a latched state. The storage compartment (46) stores at least one battery (42, 44). The battery retaining structure (100) further comprises an actuating member (104) acting upon the latching element (102) and being adapted to, upon actuation, permit the storage compartment (46) to reach an un-latched state with respect to the latching element (102). The battery retaining structure (100) further comprises and a movement restricting mechanism (106) connected to the frame body (10), the movement restricting mechanism (106) inhibiting movement of the at least one battery (42, 44) when the storage compartment (46) is in the latched state."
